Psychological Services are about working in partnership in a safe space.  We talk about what is going on for you and together work out a plan for moving forward.  As the client, your needs and goals are the priority.  Psychology is not about fixing things, rather it is exploring new, more helpful ways of seeing and doing things to get different outcomes.

Sessions are useful for those who are experiencing depression, anxiety, stress or having issues with adjusting to life changes or unexpected events - my speciality is the adjustment to parenting and perinatal mental health.  I work across genders, and with adults of all ages.

I use a variety of evidence based practices, depending on your needs and preferences - drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Mindfulness Techniques; Circle of Security Parenting; Goal setting and Problem Solving; Feedback Informed Treatment; Relaxation Training; and Supportive Counselling

I am available Tuesdays and Thursdays, appointments by arrangement.

Extended/Initial Consultation

75 minutes duration.

For initial meetings, the longer session allows us to get to know each other, discuss what you are looking for and hope to achieve from your sessions.  We also determine whether we are a good 'fit' and can likely work well together.

Extended sessions are also very useful when you want a little more time to reflect and work on things, or for sessions involving other people (eg parnters, whānau)

Standard/Follow-up Consultation

50 minutes duration.

Following on from our initial meeting, we use this time to review how things are going, and the plan for moving ahead.  We discuss your outcomes and satisfaction with the service at every contact to ensure your needs are being met.  We have flexibility within these sessions about how often we meet - often extending out between sessions as you move to finishing up.

Supervision

50 minutes duration.

For Psychologists or other Mental Health Professionals - Clinical and Allied.

Meeting on a regular, mutually agreed basis, supervision provides you with a safe space to reflect on your work/practice.  While focussing on your specific goals for supervision, ethics and the intersection of personal/professional are also considered
